Jaffna Food at Holiday Inn is back

The ‘Jaffna Food Festival’ will be held at the Holiday Inn's Alhambra restaurant, on Saturdays and Sunday nights for a month beginning the October 27.

The Holiday Inn's Jaffna Food Festival has been held annually for the past five years with spectacular success. The festival's authentic northern cuisine prepared in true village style has kept people coming back for more, year after year.

Try out the signature dish- the Odiyal Kool - a mystic brew of seafood, vegetables, carefully measured spices and odiyal flour. Some of the other favourites on offer are paal appan (kiri appa), paper thosai, porriyal, and mouth-watering crabs, prawns, chicken, mutton, fish and vegetables made to a variety of traditional recipes. To finish, there is a selection of traditional desserts - deliciously pink rasawalli pudding, laddu, pani pinatu and sweet Point Pedro vadai and more.

The buffet is held in suitably evocative surroundings, beautifully decorated with Palmyrah trees and intricate kolam, with Indian music playing in the background and vetti-clad waiters on hand.
