The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has begun a probe into an incident where Shalitha Wijesundera, Deputy Chairman of Airports and Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, is said to have tried to facilitate the exit of two Sri Lankans on forged visas to the United Kingdom.

The shortage of milk powder culminating in a staggering price hike on Friday has forced thousands of people to buy milk food not by the packet but loose in small quantities. Milk powder is available in smaller quantities ranging from 50g to 250g packed in polythene or sili-sili bags at boutiques in Colombo and outstations.
