Real ‘Haloween Howl’ at Palm Beach Hotel

Halloween or ‘all Hallows’ (holy ones) eve is the evening before all saints day, the festival for Christian saints and Martyrs who have no special day of their own.

Often the event is associated with trade mark names/objects/animals and rituals. Jack o lantern a lantern made out of a pumpkin or turnip resembles the souls of dead or goblins, a tradition first started off in Ireland. Back cats, Owls and Bats often symbolizes the Halloween day as they are considered to be bad spirits of the dead.

The first Halloween dance at the Palm Beach Hotel, Mount Lavinia will come alive on November 2. It is the brain child of Lanil Jayawardene the General Manager of the hotel, who has a wealth of experience in the hospitality entertainment industry and under his management the famous night club of Colombo The Blue Leopard reopened after 18 years.

The country has witnessed countless events organized by Mr. Jayawardene including the best Halloween dance at the Harbour Room. Now the lime light is at Palm Beach Hotel, where the first ever Halloween Dance at the Hotel with a touch of ‘ghostly atmosphere’ will be held this Friday.

Lots of prizes to be won at the Halloween Dance including ‘The Best Halloween Dress’, ‘Halloween Queen’ and ‘The Loudest Scream’.‘Keep the day free and join the feast of souls of dead at Palm Beach Hotel’ said a spokesman from the hotel. Tickets are priced at Rs. 990/= per person inclding a sumptuous dinner buffet and DJ Music for dancing.
