Bad weather to continue

The Meteorological Department forecasts that the prevailing bad weather may continue till next week due to the atmospheric disturbances in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

“There would be heavy rains during the afternoons and thundershowers would take place over most of the island in the night. Strong winds too can be experienced at nights,” the Duty Meteorologist said.

The Disaster Management Centre said that there were a few reports of minor damage in Kalutara, Kandy, Galle and Ratnapura districts due to heavy rain and strong wind.
