CCC juniors on Indian tour

The CCC cricket juniors will take part for the fifth successive year at the 21st All-India championship organised by Imtiaz Ahamed Cricket Academy, in Bangalore from May 22 to 30. Over 35 teams will vie for honours drawn from New Delhi, Bambay, Calcutta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mysore etc. CCC juniors will be the only overseas team. They performed with distinction being the only Cricket Academy todate to win a championship away from home and in the process bagging all the major awards.

This year they will be fielding only one team, U-13 led by Minhaj Jaleel. A member of the national junior spinners clinic handled by Ashley Mallett and Ruwan Kalpage. He has the potential to make the grade, as a bowling all-rounder. He represented the Colombo District - Northern / Western province teams. His deputy Ramidu Lakshan is also from Thurstan who is a bowling all-rounder (off-spin).

The team: Minhaj Jaleel Captain (Thurstan), Ramindua Lakshan (Vice Captain-Thurstan), Lahiru Jayakody (Nalanda), Sachinda Karunaratne (Nalanda), Imal Liyanage (Thurstan) Pathum Wickremasinghe (Carey), Uvin Atukorale (Ananda), Devind Pathmanathan (Royal), Visal Perera (C.I.S). Shammi Seneviratne (St. Joseph's), Irfaan Aziz (Thurstan), Chamud Sathyapala (Carey), Pumudu Munasinghe (Royal), and Thimira Jayasinghe (Thurstan).
