Rain proves a spoiler

The 4th and final day of the tour match between Sri Lanka Academy' and 'Bangladesh Academy' was spoilt due persistent showers. The game was interestingly poised with the 'Sri Lankans' on 232 runs ahead with eight wickets in hand at the end of the 3rd days play. However after the initial delay the game commenced in the post lunch session.

The Sri Lankans assessing the situation and seeing no purpose in declaring decided to continue their second innings to the close of play till it was called off at 4.50 p.m. The Sri Lankans Sri Lankans continuing from their overnight total of 220 for 2 went on a post a mammoth 403 for 5 in 124 overs of batting. Tharanga Paranawithana who was (92 not out) completed his century and made 104. Following Paranavithana Nisal Randika' (42) and Kosala Kulasekera ( 59 not out added another 103 runs for the 6th wickets

The series was at a deadlock with the two tests matches ending in draws, the batsmen dominated the bowlers during the series with the bowlers only getting little response from the pitches which were very slow and low.
