Be not disheartened, our dear heroes,
You're indeed world-beaters,
Since tiny Sri Lanka beat mighty countries,
You needn't be depressed.
Think of your major victory,
To be in the grand final,
Where other great teams failed.
Hail the heroic deeds of
Our master blaster Sanath,
Spin Wizard Murali, Vaas,
Mahela, Lasith and the rest
Throughout the tournament,
with their fighting qualities.
Be comforted, my dear fellow countrymen,
Because we were defeated - more by rain,
Bad light and the toss than by Australians.
Hence, let's praise our valiant cricketers,
Who are really world-beaters,
Sure to win the next World Cup.
