EnterpriseDB Partners, Fossmart to offer open source-based database solutions

EnterpriseDB, maker of the world’s most affordable enterprise-class database, and Fossmart (Pvt) Ltd., a distributor of open source-based technology in Sri Lanka, announced a partnership under which Fossmart will sell EnterpriseDB Advanced Server to its customers and also offer them associated support and training.

“This partnership with EnterpriseDB will enable us to offer the most advanced open source-based database solutions available,” said Janaka Wickramasinghe, Chief Executive Officer, Fossmart said in a joint statement issued by the two companies.

“Sri Lankan businesses are well aware of the benefits of products built on open source, but require commercial-grade service and support to protect their investments. We will now be able to meet their database needs with EnterpriseDB.”

EnterpriseDB has enhanced PostgreSQL, the world’s most advanced open source database, to create the award-winning EnterpriseDB Advanced Server.

An enterprise-class database that can run applications written for Oracle unchanged, EnterpriseDB Advanced Server performs between 50% and 200% better than PostgreSQL. EnterpriseDB also offers a comprehensive suite of tools for developers and DBAs and world-class, around-the-clock technical support.

“EnterpriseDB is pleased to partner with Fossmart to extend our sales reach in the Asia Pacific region,” said Roger Durn, general manager, Asia Pacific, EnterpriseDB.

“Since opening our Asia Pacific headquarters in January, we have had great success in the region, and this partnership will help us to meet the market’s demand for open source-based alternatives to expensive proprietary software.”
