Sl Academy in good shape

Sri Lanka Academy took advantage of a clinical performance and was in a commanding position at the close of the second days play in their four day encounter against the Bangladesh Academy Xl.

Bangladesh who were 227 for 7 overnight, were bundled out for the addition of 33 runs to be 260 all-out. Left arm spinner 'Chanaka Komasaru' who was wicketless on the first day, took all three wickets to fall and finished with figures of 3 for 50 off 27 overs.

Sri Lanka opening batsman and captain 'Ian Daniel' and ;Tharanga Paranawithana' gave the Lankans a steady start with a eighty four run partnership for the first wicket before 'Tharanga Paranawithana' was unfortunately dismissed in the last ball before tea for a flawless 55. 'Chanaka Wijesinghe' who joined his captain after the tea interval batted with much confidence and took a positive approach in countering the 'Bangladeshi' bowling, these two added 67 runs for the 2nd wicket before 'Wijesinghe' was judged caught at short leg for 37 -- a decision which was debatable. Nadeera Nawala joined his skipper and consolidated the advantage taken and pushed the score to 190 by the close without any further loss.

Ian Daniel' played a captains hand in making (78 not out) at the close, he batted through the innings which was made of (73) overs.
