Strokes of resilience in troubled times

Shantha Jayalath is an artist with a mission to help the people of today who have lost all hope. To help them realise their own inner strength and to let them know that all is not lost.

“People have to live through problematic conditions. These people live in hopelessness. Their self confidence is very low. The message I’m trying to send across is that such people should realize their inner strengths and reawaken as useful members of society,” says Mr. Jayalath.

‘Resurgence’, a three-week long art exhibition by Mr. Jayalath, will be held at The Gallery, Paradise Road from May 8 onwards. More than 20 of Jayalath’s best works will be on display at this exhibition.

This is his third exhibition at the Gallery. He has taken part in and won awards at various art competitions organized by the Youth Centre, the Jathika Kala Sangamya, etc.
