Seventh Troop sets out

Dhammika Peiries' miniplay '7th Troop' (Hathwana Kandayama) a story revolving around a group of brave scouts who are prepared to meet an eventuality is telecast every Thursday at 8.30 on Rupavahini channel.

Produced by Rohan Samaradivakara the play stars Lucian Bulathsinghala, Jayantha Ketagoda, Amiththa Weerasinghe, Wimal Kumara de Costa, Udeni Alwis, Nalin Pradeep Uduwela, Ananda Wickremage, Wasantha Vittachchi, Daya Wayaman, Ranjith Wickremasinghe, Iroshani Nilaweera, Malee Jayaweerage, Rinsley Weeraratne, Rupa Gomes, Ranjani Rajmohan and Bathiya Abeykone.

A scout Jamboree is held in a jungle close to Anuradhapura with the participation of children from different parts of the country. When grouping takes place Rukshan, Samanala, Brian, Gimhana, Ahinsaka, Krishna and Janitha makes the 'Seventh Group'. They are the best.

Once when they were on field tour they meet Ivan Marasinghe a well-known philanthropist. He invites them to his home. Samanala one of the 7th Troop is suspicious when he sees the unusual ornaments in the house. Vicky, the chief security officer at Marasinghe is aware of Samanala's suspicion. The 7th Troop manages to win Marasinghe's heart.

The usual is a competition among the scout groups to gain new experience reaching objectives begin. During this time the 7th Troop comes across an unexpected problem. They get lost in the jungle. The rest believe that the group has just disappeared. Jamboree is stopped on the instruction of the government.

Pandula, a young journalist investigates the disappearance of the children. He goes missing. The parents are distressed over the loss of their children and Jayaweera, the teacher who is in charge of the group is worried. Meanwhile Vicky continues to observe everything…

What happens to Pandula, the journalist? Who is responsible for the disappearance of the children? What does Vicky see? Is Marasinghe responsible for the disappearances? And what has happened to the 7th Troop? Watch the action packed twenty three episodes for the answers.
