Donald's 25 years in cinema

Well-known Assistant Director Donald Jayantha celebrates twenty five years in cinema.

Starting as the second assistant director in Dharmasiri Gamage's 'Yasa Isuru' Donald has worked for thirty six films under different filmmakers.

Donald studied at Deniyaya Kotapola Maha Vidyalaya and later he started as a journalist and joined stage and teledramas.

"The beginning of my long journey started with my meeting Dharmasiri Gamage and working in his film. I fell in love with working "behind the scenes" and later I worked in Dharmasiri Gamage's 'Pooja' and all the films directed by Udayakantha Warnasuriya and many others," says Donald.

Donald is the first AD in the film 'Ran Kevita' which is now being screened at EAP circuit and other films he assisted to be released are Udayakantha's next film 'Piyabanna Mang Asai', Shenesh Bandara's 'Heart FM', Thushara Peiries' 'Me Dawasa Mama'.

Donald targets to complete 50 films and enter cinema as director.

He expressed his special gratitude to Udayakantha Warnasuriya who invited him to be second in charge in all his films and all the other directors who entrusted him with the important job of Assistant Director.
