SLASI brings regional ICT alliance to Lanka

In a bid to create stronger relationships among member economies, the Sri Lanka Association for the Software Industry (SLASI), the apex body for the software industry in the country, hosted the year’s first Executive Council Meeting of the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Programme recently.

The alliance comprises of sixteen member economies, Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

President SLASI, Udaya De Silva said that the event mainly focused on APICTA’s strategy to build a platform for enhancing the multilateral ICT trade among the regional countries and that this programme has already brought in partnerships between Sri Lankan companies and the businesses in other member countries which is very encouraging for the software industry and will bring foreign earnings into the country.

“With sixteen of the Asian economies who have gained strong visibility in the global ICT market participate and interact, the Lankan ICT companies will have ample opportunities to build and strengthen alliances by meeting businessmen and industry authorities during APICTA events,” he added.
