Viyamana wins

'Viyamana' an innovative programme for Sri Lankan television scene produced by Derana won the Best Documentary at State Tele Award-2006. Winning an award within a shorter span of one year, Derana considers the recognition from the state as a special victory for the latest TV channel in the country.

Directed by young and talented producer Kumara Hewage, 'Viyamana' became popular as a modern television programme. In communicating with its audience the programme was an attempt to experiment on visual language. The director said the main aim of 'Viyamana' was to make a novel programme to explore the diversity of Sri Lankan culture.
