Nihonbashi, Popular Japanese Restaurant recently arranged a culinary tour of Tokyo for its Chef Piyatissa and main restaurant Manager Rajitha.

Owner and founder of Nihonbashi, Japanese born Dharshan took his team on a five day tour on training of Japanese cuisine last month. Apart from visiting the Tsukiji Fish Market every day, Piyatissa and Rajitha were able to experience first hand, various kinds of Japanese cuisines from specialized Soba Restaurants, Sukiyaki Restaurants and SUSHI-YA or Sushi restaurant. They took time to taste and see Japanese foods at the highest levels. Pictured here at a SUSHI-YA are Chef Piyatissa, Dharshan Munidasa, Sushi Chef of Kinchan in Tameike and Rajitha after an extravagant sushi dinner.

Nihonbashi Japanese restaurants at Galle Face Terrace, Hilton Colombo Residence and at ODEL is committed to its staff and the cuisine they serve and is probably the only restaurant without an international affiliation that educates its staff by visiting and eating the cuisine it serves in its homeland.

'This tour is a long term investment for us' said Dharshan, 'and considering our plans for expansion in the region, its well worth the time and resources', he adds.
