LBSI wins top honours at inhouse event

Leo Burnett Solutions Inc (LBSI) recently celebrated its monumental achievement of gaining for the company its first ever 7+ rating at the Leo Burnett Worldwide GPC. The GPC is Leo Burnett Worldwide’s Global Product Committee which meets quarterly to evaluate the work of all its offices. The work to earn this prestigious rating was the Good Knight TV commercials popularly titled “Slaps”.

This success has given an auspicious beginning to a year which is dedicated to taking the standards of creativity to international levels for LBSI – the local office of the Leo Burnett Worldwide (LBW) network, the local office said in a statement. LBSI Creative Director Subhash Pinnapola, the man behind the idea, said that this recognition was something that he never expected, “I always knew that the idea would work very well in the local market; however I never imagined that it would be received and praised so highly at the GPC.

This is not just a win for my team, but something that is to be shared with the rest of LBSI as well as our client, Good Knight, who played a big role in making this accolade possible by allowing us the freedom to break the mould presently in existence for this category.”

This rating is a major achievement for the seven year old company, which has strived hard from its inception to establish themselves as a creative force amongst the offices within the LBW network. A 7+ rating confirms that the company is creatively able and is on par with international standards. It also says that the office is able to create big ideas that are excellently crafted, the statement said.

Held this time in Sydney, Australia, the GPC meeting is the Leo Burnett Worldwide network’s quarterly review of its creative work from all of its 94 offices worldwide. The GPC reviews a collection of work comprising hundreds of communications in areas such as TV, print, radio, interactive and ambient. The work of each office is judged against the highest international standards by a panel comprising the most Senior Creative talent of the LBW network from across the world, and is chaired by the Worldwide Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett, Mark Tutssel. Commenting on the Sri Lanka office’s first 7, he said “I knew Colombo will score its first 7 very soon as their work was consistently improving quarter after quarter. This success is a tribute to the energy and commitment of the entire team.”
