Sevens specialists in early form

Sevens specialists Isipathana together with the formidable Kingswood and St Antony’s teams had good wins over their opponents when the schools Rugby Sevens got under way at Nittawela.

Kingswood set the ball rolling when they devoured the Lions by a 19 point margin. Isipathana went on a scoring spree against Science College and did not permit their line to be crossed. Kingswood reveled against St. Aloysius piling up a mammoth 61 points.

The local teams didn’t fare that badly with the Antonians winning 35-0 against Piliyandala after a close 12-0 win over Vidyartha early on. Meanwhile, the Sylvestarians also impressed with a 21-10 win over the highly-rated Wesley side.
