Lanthra and Krishan:New rockers in the scene

Lanthra and Krishan are the latest duo to emerge in the Lankan music scene.

Lantra Perera, a 17 years old student of St. Peter's College and his school friend Kirishan are both mulitalented. Lantra plays guitar, while Krishan plays the keyboards. They both are really good vocals, sing songs from sixties to current chart toppers.

Lantra really enjoys singing as well as learning music from the time he was very young (9 years).

‘I would like to say that it was my parents who first led me to where I stand now, as they gifted me a guitar when I was 11 years old. And that is how I began my musical career’ he said

His father Nimal Perera, ex Gypsies bassist is the real force behind his success.
Lanthra got his first lesson in music from Wasantha and further training he got from Derick Wickramanayaka of Wild Fire fame and Kamal Perera of the band Miraj.

Lantra and Krishan were members of the band ‘AKASH’ which was managed by Thilak Dias. ‘Akash’ was a finalist of TNL ONSTAGE in 2004 was was awarded the best original song ‘I wanna rock you’ sung by Lanthra.

Lanthra was with Dilup Gabadamudalige and played as his lead guitarist for a short period.

At present Lanthra and Krishan are working on a music album which they are hoping to bring out very soon.

‘Our maiden album would be a mixture of both new styles and old. We like rock music alot and it will be mainly a collection of rock music’ he said.
