Microsoft to support INFOTEL 2006 during IT week

Microsoft is lending support to the INFOTEL 2006 exhibition as Gold Sponsor when the first ever ‘National ICT Week’ gets underway from September 13 to 17 in Colombo.

The events lined up for the week will comprise two international IT conferences - the 8th International IT Conference (IITC 2006) and the 23rd South East Asia Regional Computer Federation Conference (SEARCC 2006) as well as the country’s biggest ICT exhibition; INFOTEL Lanka 2006 – the 7th in a series of INFOTEL Exhibitions to be held in Sri Lanka.

The week will bring together the entire IT community of Sri Lanka; industry experts, professionals, academics and the user community on to a single platform, for knowledge sharing.

These events are aimed at showcasing current global technological developments and its application to Sri Lanka, to make the public aware of the great impact ICT can have on the development process of this country, Microsoft said in a statement.
