5-Star X'plosion at BMICH

5-Star X'plosion was a night of explosion that rocked BMICH and keeping to their word, made it the one of the best shows of the year and much memorable one that no one who witnessed it would forget.

The show began with and intro from Ishan Bahar of Jetliners fame and followed by his son Ricky and introducing the latest sensation to the local showbiz scene was Shanelle Fernando. The first hour was an exciting time as the music changed from dance to blues. The show turned to a different angle when Mariazelle put the audience into a dancing mood with her famous Kandy Lamissi with back up dancers from Chanadna Wickremasinghe. This was a different performance from her usual ones and kept everyone glued to their seats with one of Luther Vandross's famous hits 'dance with my father', which she dedicated to her father and at the end of her performance she thanked DK promotions in giving her the opportunity to perform at this show.

The best performance came from dynamic Rajitha Rupasinghe of Misty, when he sang Tom Jones 'There's something about you baby that I like' and 'What a Wonderful World'.

Before going to the second half of the show, the Gypsies, who were total backup band for the whole show and performers were led in by the one and only Sunil Perera to give a night of laughter and excitement. His popular song 'Lankawe' with some superb acting done by Ronnie Leitch, Sajith, Nilanthi and other stars . It was some performance as it reflected the whole Sri Lankan political scenario and the happening that are taking place in the country for the last two years. Other star performer was Ruckshan Perera.

The second half was totally Gypsies show and Sunil performed his latest song 'Apita Kiyanna- No Problem Private Limited' again with Ronnie.

The show was put together by the Old Thomians' Swimming Club (OTSC) in collaboration with DK Promotions.
