‘Toni Ranga Soba’ on Saturday Rupavahini ‘Tony Ranga Soba’, the colorful evening that felicitated veteran actor, Tony Ranasinghe on Tuesday at the BMICH, will be telecast on Rupavahini on Saturday, August 12 at 10.10 pm.
The spectacular evening when the stars of the silver screen danced and acted in honour of his service to cinema over the last fifty years and to coincided with his 70th birthday. Young actors and actresses along with those experienced in Sri Lankan cinema reproduced unforgettable scenes of yesteryear’s silver screen, in which, Tony proved his acting ability.
The programme also includes different opinions expressed by veteran directors, actors and other artistes related Sri Lankan cinema while D. B. Nihalsinghe delivered a speech on 'Tony's Acting'. President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who made a surprise visit to the BMICH last Monday, also shared a few words in honour of Tony. The dance performance for the show was facilitated by the Budhawatte Dancing Academy.
