The 18th Anniversary Convention of the Association of Professional Bankers (Sri Lanka) will be held on the theme “Lankan Banking – A Paradigm Shift” on August 25 at the HNB Towers in Colombo.

The keynote speaker is Prof. Norbert Walter, Chief Economist Deutsche Bank Group and head of Deutsche Bank Research while Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal is the chief guest. Sureena Kaur, IFC, Washington DC will be making a presentation on SME Banking – Exploring New Ground while presentations are also being made on the ‘Future of the Retail Banking’ by Simon Williams of HSBC, Colombo, ‘Business Transformation Outsourcing’ by a representative of IBM, ‘International Banking’ by Steffan Mahrdt, Deutsche Bank AG and ‘Employee Motivation and Value Creation’ by Archana Arcot, WNS Global Service (Pvt) Ltd, Mumbai.

All these sessions will be followed up with a CEO’s forum at the end of the presentations chaired by the President of the APB and Managing Director/CEO, Hatton National Bank, R. Theagarajah.

The panel will include Ashroff Omar, CEO of Brandix Lanka Ltd, Anil Amarasuriya, Managing Director, Sampath Bank and Nihal Fonseka, Director/CEO, DFCC.
