JKH urges ‘conflict’ sides to come together

John Keells Holdings chairman Susantha Ratnayake last week urged all stakeholders and sides to the ethnic conflict to work towards a consensus to achieve a negotiated political solution to the problem.

Ratnayake, repeating concerns raised in the past about the need for peace for long term, growth and competitiveness, said an enabling environment is critical if “we are to maintain the level of performance seen in the last year and the first quarter.” His comments appeared in the group’s interim results released last week.
