Sri Lanka in a deep abyss

Sri Lanka has fallen into a deep abyss and I do not think any one can pull us out of this. Current happenings:

Port strike.........the port and the country's economy was hit badly. Our trade unions should know their limits and not bite the hands that feed them.

Electronic media fiasco..........currently at least 80 percen of television commercials are either produced abroad or have some part of it produced abroad. So with the increase in taxation ....local artistes can happily run their teledramas on TV stations without advertisements... Imagine cricket matches without commercials … but wait a minute... No ad, No Sponsor, .....So No Match and No Local Teledrama.

I heard that the garment industry, tea industry (factories) are complaining about the port strike...but I think it serves them right as they are sweat shops where our poor local women have become the new slaves of the 21st century. So the problems they face are nothing compared to the current burdens being faced by workers in tea estates and the women who toil in garment factories.

What about our poor women in Lebanon who are being bombed day and night with no hope of getting out of the country?

I think Sri Lanka has reaped what it sowed as there is disunity in all parts of society and unless a miracle happens there is a big social bomb waiting to explode and the victims will be the poor people of Sri Lanka.
