Royal sweep junior Table Tennis board

Royal College swept the board at the Under 16 and Under 10 boys Inter-School Table Tennis Championships concluded at the S. Thomas’ College Gymnasium at Mt. Lavinia yesterday.

Royal bagged the three main divisions – Under 16 A, B and C and the Under 10 championships and the runners up position as well.

The following lads represented Royal Under 16 A – Buddhika Walagampaya, ChanakaGanegoda, Dulan Nakandawela, Samitha Abeyratne, Kasun Kavisekera. Royal B – Nimasanda Yapa, Charith Madurapperuma, Vindula Ganegoda, Shan Gunasekera, GayanInduranwela. Royal C – S. Malawi, Himasha Ranatunga,Dumith Jayatilleke, Pasan Bimsara, Oshavi Kottachchi.

Meanwhile the Dharmaraja College A team consisted of Sajitha Samaraweera, Sukitha Wickremanayake, Nirman Bandara,Nivina Chathuranga Bandara, G. Hulangamuwa.

Incidentally the Royal teams are coached by N.H. Perera, the former national champion and coach.

The girls Under 16 and Under 10 finals will be worked off at the same venue today starting at 8.30 a.m.

Results
Under 16 A Finals – Royal A beat Dharmarajah A 3-2; semi-finals – Trinity and Devananda.

Under 16 B Division – Royal B beat Dharmasoka B 3-2; semi-finals – Richmond and Kingswood.

Under 16 C Division – Royal C beat Dharmasoka C 3-0, semi-finals – Isipathana and St.Anthony’s B Katugastota.

Under 16 D Division- St. Anthony’s Katugastota beat P.D.S. Kularatne MV Ambalangoda 3-1, Semi-finals – Wickremabahu Gampola and Richmond.

Under 16 E Division – Lalith Athuathmudali A beat St. Sylvesters Kandy 3-0, semi-finals – Peradeniya Central A and Deniyaya Central A.

Under 16 F Division – Nalanda A beat E.W.W. Kannangara V 3-1, semi-finals – St. Sylvesters and Kegalle V.

Under 10 A Division Finals – Royal A beat Royal B 3-0. B Division – Devananda beat Dharmasoka 3-1; C Division – Dharmasoka beat Richmond 3-1; D Division - Richmond beat Vidura College 3-1.
