Envoy decides to call it a day
By Neville de Silva in London
Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to the UK has indicated to the foreign minister that he would like to return to Colombo several months before his term is due to expire.

High Commissioner Faisz Musthapha confirmed yesterday that he had informed Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar that he would like to relinquish his post in the next couple of months.

"I want to get back to the bar and continue my legal practice. I have missed it for so long now", Mr. Musthapha, a President's Counsel and a leading appellate lawyer said.

Meanwhile two Sri Lankan charities are to benefit from a fund-raising dinner organised last week by Ameena Musthapha, wife of the high commissioner.

The fund raiser named "Autumn Leaves" was a follow up of a similar event organised by Mrs. Musthapha last year where she raised £9000 for each of the two charities Richmond Fellowship of Lanka (RFL) and the Vocational Training Centre project of the Muslim Ladies Study Circle.
