Fraud case put off
The case against Military Spokesman Colonel Sumedha Perera and former BASL Secretary Bandula Wijesinghe was postponed this week for October 13.

Acting High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara issued notice on Mr. Wijesinghe who was not present at the hearing. The duo along with a former caretaker of a property, H.M. Sarath Wijewardena, are charged with claiming the property of a well-known philanthropist by fraudulent means. The property was owned by the Kotte UC’s first Mayor, Donald Obeysekere. It was later transferred to one of his sons, Alexander Obeysekere.
