Robbie's still swinging
Queen of pop Madonna's new film will debut in the UK in October. But it's no ordinary performance by the 44-year-old singer. According to reports, her co-star Adriano Giannin has said the film features masochistic sex scenes. Madonna apparently features in several explicit sex scenes.

The film "Swept Away" is directed by Madonna's husband Guy Ritchie. The film which cost around £4 million to make includes scenes in which Madonna is beaten to make her bark like a dog.

The crown of the UK singles chart changed hands this week. Replacing Colourblind by Darius at the top is the pop group Sugababes. The female trio captured the No: 1 spot with the song "Round Round".

The group which formed in 2000, made its debut in the chart at No: 6 in September of that year with the song 'Overload'.

They were no manufactured act but had a genuine harmonised soul pop.

Sugababes' first No:1 song came in April this year with 'Freak Like Me'. 'Round Round', is the group's second chart topping song. The Sugababes have also become the third act to score two No:1 songs in the UK this year following Gareth Gates and Will Young.

The second highest new entry on the UK singles chart at No: 3 is the song 'Romeo Dunn' by rapper Romeo.

It's the debut solo hit for Romeo who is a part of the rap act So Solid Crew. The solo chart success for Romeo comes three months after the group made it into the chart with 'Ride Wid Us'. Romeo is the second solo artiste from the group to venture out after Oxide & Neutrino.

Daniel Bedingfield had his first No: 1 for this year with his song 'Gotta Get Thru This'. This song was also a No: 1 hit in December last year.

After all these months Bedingfield has another release called 'James Dean (I Wanna Know)' which debuted this week at No: 4.

Having succeeded with the previous garage dance track, many had doubts the London teenager would be able to repeat it with another song. Daniel did not have a back to back No: 1 song but managed another hit in the top 20.

The New Zealand-born Bedingfield strays away from garage pop on the new hit but it remains dance friendly. 'James Dean (I Wanna Know)' was written by Daniel himself.

We have been reading about the squabbles in the group Hearsay or at least the fights that led to the departure of Kym Marsh.

This week Hearsay entered the singles chart at the No: 6 position with 'Lovin' Is Easy'. It's the lowest chart position for the group. The previous single they released from the second album peaked at No: 4 in December.

'Lovin' Is Easy', is a pop song featuring the vocals of new recruit Johnny Sehntall. The track will be featured in Hearsay's third album shortly.

In the early Nineties the dance/ rap group Snap was very popular on the club scene. The group however experienced changes and then faded away but not before making a distinct mark on the scene.

The group had two No: 1 songs in the UK with 'The Power' in 1990 and 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' in 1992.

It was in 1992 that the main rap star Turbo B quit Snap. Niki Harris took centre stage and was credited as vocalist on the hits 'Exterminate' and 'Do You See The Light' which peaked at No: 10 in 1993.

Nine years later Plaything has reworked 'Do You See The Light' giving Snap another run at the chart as it entered the Top 20 at No: 14.

The Rolling Stones opened their world tour surprisingly at a club show in Toronto, Canada on August 16. Sir Mick Jagger and his veteran rockers performed to 1000 fan club members at the Palais Royale. The band's 15 song set included 'Honky Tonk Women', 'Wild Horses', 'Brown Sugar' and a new track titled 'Don't Stop'.

The band which is in its 50th year is due to tour 27 cities and give 40 shows in North America, Australia, South East Asia and possibly China next year.

Robbie Williams who is now on holiday in the US is rumoured to have completed work on a new album called 'Escapology'. The album will be his first since 'Swing When You're Winning' released in 2001.

The new album is due for release on November 18 along with a new single titled 'Fell'.

Meanwhile the World Intellectual Property Organisation closed the unofficial website in a case of "Cybersquatting''. The host of the site agreed to transfer www.robbiewilliams.info back to the singer.
