An evening of classical ballet and modern dance
The Mount Lavinia Ballet School founded by Hannerlore Imig- Jayasundara, a member of the Royal Academy of Dance, London will present an evening of western classical ballet and modern dance on June 22 and 23 at the Lionel Wendt Theatre in Colombo.

The programme consists of three parts. The first, "Dance of the hours" by Amilcare Ponchilli is presented by the junior students.

The second part, "Beautiful Moments," displays different dance techniques and starts with an opening Polonaise by Tchaikovsky. It is followed by a classical dance.

The third part, "American Classics" is a modern arrangement with music by G. Gershwin, J.P. Sousa and L. Anderson.
