Omega Line Sports Club and Maliban Biscuits Sports Club won the Division 'A' Men and Women championships of the Mercantile Volleyball Tournament played at the National Youth Service Council Indoor Stadium in Maharagama on Saturday (10).
In the Division 'A' Men’s final Omega Line SC comfortably beat Eskimo Fashions SC in straight sets 3-0 with scores of 25-13,25-17 and 25-17.
In the Women’s final, Maliban Biscuits SC recorded a 3-0 straight win against MAS Unichela Panadura with set scores of 25-21,25-22 and 25-18.
Matches were played under three categories -- Division 'A', Championship and Super League.
Over 60 teams from mercantile sector competed in the tournament which began in September.
The finals of the Championship and Super League in Men and Women categories will be played on Sunday (11) in Maharagama.
The tournament is conducted by Mercantile Volleyball Association.
In the Championship Women's final Omega Line SC will take on MAS Casual Line Mawathagama at 8.00am, followed by the Championship Men's final between Ocean Lanka SC and Expo Lanka Holdings at 11.00am.
The Super League category finals will kick off from 2.30pm with the Women's final between Brandix Apparel Mirigama and MAS Casual Line Mawathagama.
The Super League Men's final between Teejay Lanka and MAS Kreeda Leisure Line Katunayake will begin at 4.00pm.
