Kelaniya Cricket Club emerged champions in the 2017 Division III T20 cricket tournament organised by the Gampaha District Cricket Association defeating Gampaha Cricket Club at the Sooriyawewa International Cricket Stadium.
Despite two good knocks by Susiri Adhikari 54 in 37 balls and an unbeaten 51 by Kanishka Abeywardena which helped the Gampaha CC to post a respectable 136 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs, their bowlers failed to defend as Kelaniya CC reached the target with two balls to spare.
Sheshan Nivanka top remained unbeaten on 44 coming off in 25 deliveries.
Sheshan Nivanka (Kelaniya CC) won the Man of the Match award while Susiri Adhikari (Gampaha CC) and Amila Perera (Kelaniya CC) won the Best Batsman's and Best Bowler's award respectively.
