UFill by Vega Innovations: First Lankan manufactured liquid vending machine, deployed in Bangladesh

Press Release

UFill, the first Sri Lankan company to manufacture liquid vending machines, recently announced the deployment of a device in Bangladesh to dispense branded detergent products.

The UFill machines are a home-grown innovation developed and engineered by Vega Innovations, a subsidiary of CodeGen International. The dispensers have been deployed locally and overseas at shopping centres and supermarket chains.

The eco-friendly liquid dispensers, dubbed as UFill machines, aim to support Vega Innovations’ drive to establish innovative and sustainable solutions to the challenges brought on by consumerism, namely the escalation of single-use plastics.

The latest UFill Machine was deployed at Unimart - a state-of-the-art shopping centre in Bangladesh and is the second one to be launched overseas, with a few more earmarked in the pipeline.

Developed with cutting-edge technology, UFill machines are hassle-free, compact in size, and easy to maintain. The devices can be installed in business premises such as supermarkets, shopping malls, factory outlets and apartment complexes, among other public spaces.

UFill offers an innovative, user-friendly solution to plastic reduction by incorporating IoT technology while the machines are fully automated, the company said.

“The vision behind UFill is to cultivate a culture of refilling and reusing of single-use plastic bottles. Thereby offering a sustainable, low cost and eco friendly solution to manufacturers and the market at large while improving brand awareness for our customers,” said Dr Beshan Kulapala, Director, Vega Innovations.

Vega Innovations is an automobile manufacturer of electric supercars. The company pioneered South Asia’s first electric supercar, Vega EVX, unveiled online at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2020.
