Two kilos of TNT explosives and four detonators have been recovered from a lagoon in the Passaiyoor area in Jaffna.
Special Task Force (STF) officers recovered the explosives concealed in eight packages.
They suspect that this could have been hidden by fishermen to use them for dynamite fishing.
Further investigations are underway.
