Himaz Baslin, Yoshitha Dinuk and Damithya Liyanage of Rahula College Matara were adjudged the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 champions at the 4th Matara District Age Group Swimming Championship. Their contributions helped Rahula College retain the Matara District boys swimming championship for the fourth successive year. Himaz won gold in the 25M Free Style (new meet record), 25M Back Stroke, 25M Breast Stroke, 4x25M Individual Medley (new meet record) events and bronze in the 25M Butterfly event for boys Under-14. Yoshitha competing in the Under-16 age group won gold in 4x25M Individual Medley, 25M Back Stroke, 25M Butterfly (new meet record) and bronze in the 25M Free Style event. Damithya won gold in the 25M Back Stroke, 25M Butterfly, 4x25 Individual Medley and silver in the 25M Breast Stroke and 25M Free Style for boys Under-18. The trio is coached by Mahinda Wickramasooriya and Nirosh Chaminda.
