Steps are being taken to restore the third power generator of the Norochcholai coal power plant which had malfunctioned yesterday (Mar 01).
The faulty generator has been repaired and will be restored to the power system in due course, the Ministry of Power and Energy said.
Electricity was restored last night across several areas which faced a power outage due to this reason, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) spokesman Sulakshana Jayawardana said.
He added that this situation would be restored completely during the course of the day.
