All hoardings promoting presidential candidates would be removed from the Borella junction until the Diyatha Uyana junction in Battaramulla from today (Oct 4), the Election Commission (EC) said.
EC Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said all Political parties and presidential candidates have been informed regarding this matter.
Deshapriya warned that legal action would be taken against those involved in putting up illegal promotional banners after nominations of presidential candidates are accepted.
The EC will accept the nominations of Presidential candidates on October 7.
