Navy Lt. Commander Laksiri Galagamage has lodged a complaint with the Colombo Fort Police after being threatened by a group of officials at the Navy headquarters yesterday (Nov 25).
It is reported that Commander Laksiri was threatened for being a witness in the case that involved the harboring of 'Navy Sampath' who is now in remand. Police Media Unit said the complaint states that Chief of Defense Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne was also present at the headquarters during the time of the incident.
Lt. Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi alias 'Navy Sampath' has been in remand over the alleged abduction and disappearance of eleven youths in 2008.
It is alleged that Chief of Defence staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne had harboured 'Navy Sampath' in order to escape being taken into custody.
Meanwhile, Chief of Defense Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne is scheduled to appear before the CID tomorrow, pertaining to the case at 10am (Nov 27).
