The Anuradhapura district leader of the banned Jamathei Millathu Ibrahim (JMI) group has been arrested today (Aug 4), police said.
According to the police, the suspect, M.I Mohamed Salman, a resident of Anuradhapura, had been arrested upon information provided by the State Intelligence Service.
The suspect is believed to have received weapon training with Easter Sunday attacks ringleader Mohamed Zahran at a training camp in Nuwara Eliya.
Two suspects with links to the proscribed JMI group including one of its provincial leader had been arrested by the police yesterday.
