The Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court has extended the remand order for former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte and his wife until November 18.
Ratwatte and his wife were initially arrested on charges related to the use of a luxury car that had been illegally assembled in Sri Lanka and operating without a valid registration.
They were produced from remand custody before the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court on November 7 today.
Ratwatte was first taken into custody by Mirihana Police in Kandy on October 31, following a tip-off received by police headquarters.
During the investigation, police discovered the unregistered luxury car without license plates at a three-story residence in the Embuldeniya area of Mirihana, owned by Ratwatte’s wife, Shashi Prabha Ratwatte.
