Private bus drivers operating buses along the Kaduwela-Colpetty bus route have taken up strike action since today (May 18), President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gemunu Wijerathne was quoted as saying told local media. According to report bus drivers decided to resort to trade union action in protest to the issuing of new bus permits by the Road Passenger Transport Authority.
A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
