The indefinite curfew which was imposed in the areas belonging to the Kalmunai, Chavalakadai, and Sammanthurai police divisions will be lifted at 8 am today (Apr 29), police said.
A curfew was initially imposed on April 26 until further notice after a shootout had occured between a group of security personnel and some suspected terrorists in the area.
The indefinite curfew was lifted yesterday and later re-imposed from 5 pm.

A former secretary to the Ministry of Trade , former additional secretary and chief finance official have been arrested over corruption charges , the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption said.
