Alaina Teplitz has been sworn in as the U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives today.
Ambassador Teplitz took oaths before the Under Secretary David Hale, the State Department said in a Twitter post.
She will take over the post left vacant by Ambassador Atul Keshap, who left Sri Lanka in August after three years of service.
Ms.Teplitz has previously served as the Ambassador to Nepal, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
