The Police said that early this morning (31), earthen mounds in the Nuwaneliya area tumbled onto the Main Road connecting Balangoda and Kataragama causing severe traffic congestion.
The landslide was brought on by the prevalent adverse rainfall, the Police also mentioned.
Word has been sent out to drivers passing through the area to take detours by the Kaltota Police.
