The Department of Wildlife Conservation has resumed tourist activities in Horton plains after the recent disaster situation.
During the past week landslides, earth slips had occurred due to adverse weather conditions as a result of Cyclone Ditwah, Therefore main access roads to nuwara eliya were disrupted.
Therefore the DWC had temporarily allowed the general public to use the roads stretching through the plains free of charge as main access roads to Nuwara Eliya were affected by landslides and earth slips.
As the obstructions to and damages to the main roads were cleared normal passenger travel has resumed, the DWC has resumed to issue tickets for tourists who visit Horton Plains, Therefore only visitors will be allowed.
