Three suspects have been arrested over a Buddhist monk’s shooting in the Gampaha district last month, Police said.
The 45-year-old Ven. Kalapaluwawe Dhammarathana Thero was shot dead inside a temple in the Malwathuhiripitiya area of Gampaha on January 23.
Arriving in a car, four unknown people posing as Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Officers, had used a T-56 assault rifle to open fire at the monk.
Upon admission to the Gampaha General Hospital with serious gunshot injuries, the Buddhist monk had passed away.
