The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Rome has launched a Consular WhatsApp number (+39 340 371 8117-messages only) for consular/tourists inquiries with effect from today onwards, Lankan embassy in Rome said.
The WhatsApp service will provide responses to various consular/tourism related inquiries in Sinhala, Tamil, English and Italian languages.
This new service is under the “Help us to serve you better” initiative started by Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Italy Satya Rodrigo to streamline, improve communication and interaction, and outreach with the Sri Lankan & Italian community in Italy, the embassy said in a statement.
The service would also be used to broadcast and inform the community of news, updates and developments at the Embassy. The Embassy encourages members of the community to sign up on the given WhatsApp number.
The Embassy said it had started the initiative by placing a box for “suggestions / comments / complaints” at the Consular area for the public. The Mission will be implementing other measures to improve and upgrade the services shortly to serve the public better.
