The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) consolidated control of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabhawa today by majority of a single vote for Mr Lasantha Wickramasekara as the new the Chairman of the Council.
Mr Wickramasekara received 23 votes in an open ballot while the National People’s Power (NPP) candidate received 22 votes.
The Council elections was postponed earlier.
