State Ministry of production, supply and regulation of Pharmaceuticals refuted media reports suggesting that prices of certain medicinal drugs have been further revised compared to the previous Maximum Retail Price (MRP) as gazetted. The Secretary to the state Ministry Dr R.M.S.K Ratnayake said that that if someone is selling medicines above the MRP given by the government they are considered as persons who are engaging in illegal activity. Therefore actions would be taken against such persons.
He urged the public to complain against persons who sell medicine above control prices by sending an email to complaints@nmra.gov.lk
