"Pride of ownership drive" held by VW beetle car owners
The volkswagen beetle owners association held their 22nd Anniversary of “pride of ownership drive” on Monday.
The owner of valkswagen vehicles held an over 50 km drive from Colombo Hilton to Bentota Thala Bentota beach hotel. Ninety eight valkswagens were brought to this year’s event, while over 200 members took part in the event.
The President of the Association, Peter Jayasinghe said that they founded the association 1997 with eight members,and currently the association exceeds 300 members.
“Every year, in the first quarter, we travel out of Colombo covering over 50 Km’s for the ‘pride of ownership drive’. We are proud to note some of the oldest valkswagens, (over 72 years) and the later models participated in today’s event.”
