Political activist Dan Priyasad, who was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Colombo National Hospital after being shot last night, has died, police confirmed this morning.
He was shot by two unidentified assailants who arrived in a motorbike at a housing complex in Salamulla, Kolonnawa last night.
Police Media Unit said initial investigations have revealed that the assailant had used a pistol.
Priyasad (39), an activisit of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is also a candidate for the local government elections.He was contesting from the SLPP for the Kolonnawa Urban Council.
